Between the Lines: The Top 40 Hits Just Keep on a Coming

Whenever I present something like this, The Top 40, the number of hits to the site skyrockets like a, I don’t know, a Titan missile maybe? Considering I’ve really only been publishing The Week in Imaging for a year and a half, things are progressing nicely. This week I have another round of “Top 40 Solutions and Services Providers that Should be on Every Dealer’s Radar”.

It’s been fun compiling this list. Granted, there are a lot of the usual suspects. But you’ll also find a few wild cards or providers that ought to be on your “watch list”.  It’s interesting chatting with dealers, analysts, and even end users and listening to their comments about these companies. That feedback has been so instrumental in putting this list together.

And Then There Were Five?

Art Post

Most evenings I’ll do a little bit of cruising around the Web searching for copier information.  The other day I ran across a white paper written by William R. Bolton in 1995 titled “The Plain Paper Copier Industry”.

Basically the paper was an outline of the plain paper copier industry up until 1994 or 95. I used this paper to research a blog “Top 19 Old Copier Manufacturers That Faded Away”.

The Week in Imaging’s Top 40 Solutions and Service Providers That Should be on Every Dealer’s Radar

Each week over the next five weeks we’re going present 8 of our “Top 40 Solutions & Service Providers that should be on Every Dealer’s Radar.” The organizations recognized here have been selected by an informal panel of independent dealers and industry analysts based on their experiences either in the field, or in the case of the industry analysts, from talking to successful dealers in the field and their own testing and reviews. What you’ll find over the next five weeks are some obvious inclusions along with some wildcards that may surprise you…or not.  Here’s the latest group of Top 40 solutions and services providers followed by the eight that were announced in the May 4th issue.

What Did You Sell This Week?

Rick Bastinelli

This week Rick Bastinelli, president of Centric Business Systems with offices throughout Maryland shares his dealership’s most notable sale of the week.

What was this week’s most notable sale?

Bastinelli: Two Ricoh color production printers, the Ricoh Pro C901 and Ricoh Pro C751.

Who bought it?

Bastinelli: A production print copy center.

Why did they pick these products?

Bastinelli: They were an existing Centric customer using Ricoh equipment and were pleased with the success of the products, which allowed us to dramatically expand our relationship with them. They transitioned a lot of their work that was previously being done on a press and moved it over specifically to the Pro C901.

The ICE Age

Ice Ice Baby, Ice Ice Baby

All right stop, collaborate and listen

Ice is back with my brand new invention

Something grabs a hold of me tightly

Art Post

Those are the first four lines of “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice, which brings me to Ricoh ICE (Integrated Cloud Environment) solution or the lack of it. I was floored when I read the first three lines of the lyrics and I was tempted to change the lyrics for this blog.
